The Demon Haunted World

CT scan

One Sunday last year, I started having pains in my lower abdomen. They were sharp, and hurt badly. After calling the nurse phone line for my insurance company, I ended up going to the hospital. They checked on my white blood cell count, and then decided it would be a good idea to send me in for a CT scan to check for appendicitis.

I haven’t slept well in a long time. It’s getting old.

Between my crazy work schedule and the winter weather, I’ve slowly gotten into bad shape, but lately I’m getting back into a good routine for running. I love it.

More of the Same Again

The caffeine withdrawal symptoms have gone down a lot today. I haven’t felt as exhausted and haven’t had a headache either.

I’m excited for this long weekend coming up. I’m hoping to make a few copies of Plone Taps and to get a few small projects done around the apartment. I’ll probably eat at Handi or Chicora Alley for dinner this weekend.

Huntington and Health

I saw this interesting infographic on Executive Healthcare the other day, and it reminded me about something I’d learned last year. I am in Huntington, West Virginia this weekend.  Feel free to read about it at Wikipedia, but make sure to read this article on MSNBC that declares Huntington to be the most unhealthy city in the United States.  Of course, they don’t really agree with that, as you can see in this kinda terribly put together video.

Smart Move

Healthy living probably doesn’t include taking your daily vitamins with beer.

When you read this, I’ll be driving to Miami.  Unless something happens that prevents me from doing so.  Don’t worry, it’s a short, pointless post.  And there will be more on the way.
