Bugs

These things have been all over my plants for the last few days. I have no idea what they are.

I have a few posts up on my beer blog, so I guess I’ll link to that tomorrow probably. I want to fix a few things on there first.

Beer

Those are Chimney Swifts. They’re hard to take a good photo of.

Today was great. I ran 4.25 miles and I loved it. This was my first real run since the Asheville half marathon last month. It felt great, too.

In other news, I’ve apparently decided that I needed to start a blog about beer, and that I needed yet another thing to spend my time on. So I guess once I get everything looking ok, I’ll link to that on here. I’ve written all of two entries so far, but I can see it being worth doing (if for no other reason than to buy new, different beers [heck yes]).

I also bought a new little plant for my desk in my man cave. Yes.

I’m So Lazy

Yet another photo from the weekend.

Yesterday at work I got an email about free plants that the horticulturalist was giving away. I ended up with two flats of salvia and some milkweed. I also got three Thai chili plants, and a few other flowers. It was funny driving home, I had a tv that Sara’s dad had given us in the backseat and every other free spot filled with plants.

This afternoon I potted some of the flowers and planted the chilis in a big container. I’ll post some pictures of our patio tomorrow.

Basil!

Well, the basil seeds we got from IKEA finally grew up. I had to buy new pots and split the plants into three different pots. I should have done this earlier. I also got some bird nets for my tomato plants, since the birds around here love to peck at the tomatoes.

Quick Basil

It’s hard to believe thisĀ  basil grew so quickly. I might need to transplant this soon. The parsley, however, is another story. It’s barely growing, and though I started some more seeds, they’re not doing a thing.
