Another Collage Thing

I really do enjoy making these things. Because of that, we have a huge stack of magazines. At some point I’m going to have to recycle most of them, but I’m still finding pages to cut out.

Things Are Getting Busy

I’ve been messing around with some more collages. They’re not all weird though. Someone please find me a job, thanks.

Oh No, Not Again

I’m struggling to keep updating this website, which is sad. Not because I think it’s all that great, but because I don’t really spend a whole lot of time on it in the first place. I’ve been splitting my time between a few things lately.

I just went live with a website I was creating for Total Soccer Academy. You can see it here (though it’s live, there are still changes to make).

I’m also working on recreating the blog I had while I was on my 2005 bike tour from Kentucky to Wyoming. I have all of the old blog entries posted, about half of my nightly journal entries posted, about 1/3 of the photos posted, and a pretty shoddy design. I hope to finish everything in the next two weeks, and at that point I’ll post about it on here.

The weather lately has been rough. Yes, I’m talking about the weather. I’m ready for spring.

I’ve Been Wondering

For the last year and a half I’ve been in a job that doesn’t really fit what I want to be doing. I’ve been unhappy for a while.  I come home in a bad mood, I don’t really enjoy most of my day, and I feel like I’ve somehow gone off track from where I was heading in my career goals.

But.

Last Thursday I was called into my boss’ office and told that she had to make cuts, and being as I’m one of the newest employees in the department, I was out of a job here. Admittedly, I had been wondering if this was coming for months. It wasn’t a horrible thing to hear, and I really wasn’t stressing too much (it was odd though, I’ve never been laid off).

The good news, though, is that they found a position for me in another area of the company. For the next two months I’ll be working on the branding for a division of the company. I’m pretty excited, and am looking forward to next Monday.

The slightly bad news, if you didn’t catch it, is that the position is only for two months. So I am making plans to find something else. That means going somewhere else. And I’m concentrating on Savannah, Georgia.

The next few weeks should bring some interesting changes and hopefully some more good news. We’ll just have to wait and see.

Been Busy

It’s been an interesting week or so. I’ve been working on designing a website with about a week turnaround. That’s the design up there. It needs a lot of work but I’m not worrying about it too much since I don’t have much of a timeline to work on it.

I will be driving down to Jacksonville Beach this weekend to attend my Uncle Terry’s memorial service. I’ll probably spend about 14 hours in the car. It’ll be good to see my family and to hear stories about him.

If I didn’t have so much to do, I’d write more. There’ll be another entry tomorrow seeing as it’s been 6 days since the last.

Cameras

A couple years ago my uncle Ed gave me a worn out cardboard box full of old cameras, flashes, and film. I’ve gone through them a little and looked up some info, but have recently started to come up with some sort of idea for putting together a document with images of the cameras and other equipment and all of the relevant info I can find. It should be an interesting project to work on. First, though, I really want to build some sort of light box for taking photos.

More of the Same Again

The caffeine withdrawal symptoms have gone down a lot today. I haven’t felt as exhausted and haven’t had a headache either.

I’m excited for this long weekend coming up. I’m hoping to make a few copies of Plone Taps and to get a few small projects done around the apartment. I’ll probably eat at Handi or Chicora Alley for dinner this weekend.

Caffeine Free Monday

Well it’s the first monday of 2010, and I haven’t had any caffeine. I am going caffeine free for the next two weeks. This should be interesting, as I’ve basically been drinking coffee since I was, what, 10?
